Clear your schedule, claim your pink slips and prepare your gear during the upcoming winter months as perhaps the most eagerly awaited event on the CPS calendar, the annual CPS River Festival is scheduled. This year it will take place from the 3rd to the 5th of November 2017.
The format is simple, yet tried and tested but 2017 will see a change of scenery as we have moved the venue to Trouthaven Trout Hideaway nestled on the banks of the Holsloot River which runs through the picturesque Stettynkloof Valley near Rawsonville, cupped by mountains which provide a breath-taking backdrop. To get the saliva glands flowing visit their website www.trouthaven.co.za
You can expect fly tying, note swapping, storytelling (of the one’s that didn’t get away), general hijinks and backslapping bonhomie. Saturday sees you depart for the streams for a day’s guided fishing with the Western Cape’s best and most experienced fly fishermen followed by dinner, prize giving and more carousing. Should you wish, you can book beats to fish again on the Sunday.
The Program for the Festival will be as follows:

Numbers are limited
In order to provide guests with the best fishing waters and individual attention we are limiting numbers to 30. We have tried to keep prices down as much as possible, but a slight increase was unavoidable. The price is however still very reasonable in that it includes a day on the rivers with an experienced guide, your accommodation at Trouthaven and all your meals. The best company available to Fly Fishing fanatics is free. Your only extra expense is your drinks.
There is an early bird special. All bookings and payments received before 1st September 2017 will cost R2300 per person sharing. Any spaces left thereafter will be R2500 per person sharing.
More information will be provided closer to the date, but book early to avoid disappointment.
Meet like-minded fly fishers, pick up new skills, win great prizes, and have a great weekend away. What’s not to like? Email CPS secretary Louis de Jager now on [email protected] to secure your place…………
