Please contact the office for clarification.<br \/>\nAlways ask for permission &#8211; never forgiveness.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>No member of the Society, inclusive of country members, shall be allowed to fish any river beat unless he\/she has made a booking for the particular beat on the relevant date.<\/li>\n<li>No member of the Society, exclusive of country members, shall be allowed to fish any river beat on more than one occasion over any given weekend.<\/li>\n<li>No member of the Society, exclusive of country members, shall be allowed to have more than one weekend booking in place at any given time.<\/li>\n<li>Only two persons, irrespective of whether they are fishing or not, are allowed to access any river beat on any given day.<\/li>\n<li>The fishing on the rivers is only allowed from 1 September to 31 May.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Lakenvlei Dam and Hut Rules<\/h4>\n<p>All rules are subject to additional pandemic restrictions. Please contact the office for clarification.<\/p>\n<p>These rules are in place to ensure the longevity of the access the CPS has to Lakenvlei, as well as to create a sustainable, enjoyable, fishing experience for all. Failing to adhere may result in disciplinary action from the CPS such as a fine, suspension of membership, or a ban.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Only those with CPS fishing rights for Lakenvlei may fish there. This consists of two components: a base membership (annual or 2-month) and a Stillwater permit (annual or one day).<br \/>\nA freshwater angling permit is required and can be obtained online from Cape Nature.<\/li>\n<li>Only those listed on the booking may enter the gate. If you wish to bring a non-fishing guest, they must have CPS membership, and must be listed on your booking. Anybody not listed on your booking will be regarded as a violation of the rules. Non-fishing members do not need a Stillwater permit.<\/li>\n<li>Your booking must be accompanied by the details of the vehicle you will travel in (registration, make, model &amp; colour). This vehicle is used for security clearance. If you wish to travel in a different vehicle, please inform the office prior to your booking. If you are unsure of which vehicle will be used, provide the details of multiple vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Contact the office to arrange a location to collect access keys. You must return the keys as soon as possible, preferably the next day. <u>A hefty penalty fine applies should keys not be returned timeously<\/u>.<\/li>\n<li>You must park in the designated parking area on the left before the hut. You may not park at the hut. You may not park at the bottom of the hill at the hut. You may not park at the back of the hut. You may not park on the roads. You may not park at the gates. You may not drive down to the shore unless you are disabled and have express permission from the water bailiff.<\/li>\n<li>Fly fishing only, no spinners or any conventional tackle. All recognised fly-fishing craft are allowed, but only electric trolling motors are allowed (refer to the conditions). The road going past the old quarry is NOT to be used by members to launch their boats from private farmland. <strong><em>Boats may only be launched in front of the hut.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All fish are to be returned to the water regardless of condition. Compulsory catch and release for trout. Please kill all bass.<\/li>\n<li>No camping, pets or fires. <strong>Fire only allowed in designated braai area<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<u>Please take all garbage home including stompies<\/u>.<\/li>\n<li>There is a daily limit of 16 people and 12 rods including those in the hut.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Rules and exceptions for those with hut bookings<\/u> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Temporary members may not book the hut.<\/li>\n<li>No member of the Society shall be allowed to have more than one booking for the hut in place at any given time<\/li>\n<li>Hut bookings are not put in place until proof of full payment has been made. 50% of this payment is a non-refundable deposit. Cancelations less than 7 days in advance may result in 100% cancelation fee.<\/li>\n<li>No more than six persons may occupy the hut at any given stage and no camping of any nature is allowed at Lakenvlei.<\/li>\n<li>Candles and\/or oil lights are prohibited inside and around the hut.<\/li>\n<li>Those with hut bookings may park at the hut, at the bottom of the hill, and the back edge of the hut. Note: the back edge must be kept clear on Mondays to allow the toilet to be cleaned.<\/li>\n<li>Those with hut bookings may bring guests that are not CPS members, but those guests may not fish. Those guests must be registered by name with the booking.<\/li>\n<li><u>Check in time is any time after 2 pm. Check out time is 10 am<\/u>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leave the hut clean, including all dishes and the outdoor fireplace, and take all garbage home.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>By accepting this booking confirmation, you undertake not to hold The Cape Piscatorial Society, Cape Nature, Department of Water Affairs or the Hex River Irrigation Board liable for any injury, loss or damage which you might sustain whilst making use of waters managed by The Cape Piscatorial Society whether while fishing or not and howsoever arising irrespective of whether such loss, injury or damage can be attributed to any act or omission on the part of The Cape Piscatorial Society, Cape Nature, Department of Water Affairs or the Hex River Irrigation Board<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rules Rivers All rules are subject to additional pandemic restrictions.
